Haute Couture Bridal – Moncton Wedding Photographer

Like the last few posts, this shoot was also part of my portfolio class. Since I am mostly a Wedding Photographer, I wanted to incorporate a wedding related image in my final portfolio. I started thinking about what I wanted and decided to go for a “high fashion, couture” look. I’ve always wanted to shoot a bride with a bird cage veil so here was my chance! I contacted a bridal boutique in the Moncton area, Bella Promessa to see if they carried such veils. I was lucky enough that they did and Janice, the owner, was kind enough to lend me a veil. After a few email exchanges, we decided to do a full shoot, complete with various dresses, accessories, etc.

It was then time to find a location. I wanted to blend the look of a modern bride with a more antique, vintage location. I instantly thought of Inn Thyme, a nice little bed and breakfast located in a century old mansion in Shediac. The owners, Tim and Patrick were very excited to have us that day and they were sooooooo accommodating! We had full access to the inn with all of it’s rooms (newly renovated I may add!) and living areas. Thank you very much Tim and Patrick for allowing us the pleasure of shooting at your lovely inn!

Once a location was secured, it was time to find a model. I decided to contact one of my future clients from this coming summer. I knew Josée would be excited to model fabulous wedding gowns and she sure did! Josée was great to work with and she had the exact look I was going for. No need to tell her how to pose for a picture. She just knew how to do it and every shot was a great one!

Finally, there are a few more people that I would like to thank that made this shoot as much of a success as it was. Mélanie LeBlanc, a student at Chez Bernard Beauty Academy was on board to help with Josée’s hair. She did a great job styling the model’s hair and making sure it was always looking good between each dress change. Also a big thank you to Gena Richard who was there to help with the dresses, hair, etc. Both Mélanie and Gena helped me out with reflectors and equipment during the shoot! Thanks ladies! I would also like to thank Jason Roy, owner of Unico Decor for letting me borrow a few bouquets for the shoot!

Wow, that was a bit longer than I had expected! And now, here is the final result!
