Monelle & Chris’ Modern Vintage Wedding – Moncton Wedding Photographer

As I arrived at Monelle and Chris’ house that sunny Saturday morning, the activity in the house looked like a typical wedding. Hair stylists were in one corner of the house while the makeup artist was setting up in another. Little did I know, this would end up being my favourite wedding to photograph.

While Monelle was waiting for her turn to get her hair done, I asked if she could show me to her dress, shoes and jewellery so I could get a start with the detail shots. I was instantly in detail heaven! While portraits are my favourite part of any wedding day, detail shots always get me just as excited. The dress, the shoes, the veil, the hair piece, the jewellery and the purse. Everything fitted so perfectly together; it was all planed and well thought out to create a wonderful wedding with a modern vintage theme. It was a perfect start to a wedding day and the rest of it followed even more beautifully.

(Due to the theme of the wedding, I chose to process the images with a slight vintage processing.)

Even the dog had his hair done! After all, he was the ring boy!

The boys were getting ready not too far away, so I took a few minutes and ran over to get some shots of Chris…

When I got back at Monelle’s, she was all dressed and ready to go. We had plenty of time before leaving for the ceremony so I shot some portraits of the bride. I could have taken portraits of Monelle all day. She is just so pretty and photogenic. I think you will all agree…

Before leaving, I caught a shot of Monelle reading over her vows for the ceremony…

I didn’t know what to expect for the ceremony location but I was amazed at how wonderful it was. Monelle and Chris chose to get married on her mom’s land right on the water, surrounded by close friends and family. White chairs overlooked the wooden deck next to the river. As Monelle made her way down the stairs, you could not help but notice the smile on Chris’ face as he saw his soon-to-be wife for the first time.

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to some bubbly and chocolate covered strawberries! Could the day get any better?!

I think the next few images summarize the love Monelle and Chris have for each other. They look at each other in the eyes and smile and cuddle. Love was all around that day and it was evident. I knew they were great in front of the camera after their engagement session, but I didn’t remember them being this photogenic!

As dinner time came around, guests made their way to the Tait House in Shediac where they were treated to a delicious meal. Between courses we got a chance to take a few extra shots…

The reception was held at the Pays de la Sagouine in Bouctouche, the same place we had taken their engagement pictures. The sun was setting quickly, but we managed to capture a few shots on the island.

Wonderful decor was made possible by the team at Unico Decor! Such a pleasure working with them! The cake was designed by Karen Silliker of The Cake Box. I’m always impressed at how amazing her cakes look. Oh – and they are just beyond delicious too!
