Jon Black: Woodworker | Moncton Portrait Photographer

I first heard about Jon Black through his girlfriend Emilie who modeled for us during a bridal beauty shoot last year. After looking at his work and my need to create something different, I got in touch and asked if I could photograph him in his environment.

I first met him at his shop in February to make the first contact, see the location and establish a plan for the shoot. Unfortunately, only a day or two before our scheduled shoot day, the building where he had his shop burned to the ground leaving him with no place to work, no tools and no material.

Fast forward to just a few weeks ago, I contacted Jon again after seeing on social media that he had a new shop up and running. He’s quickly getting back up to full production and it was nice to see his excitement about being back at what he loves to do. He really does have a passion for creating real works of art and it was nothing but a pleasure photographing him for a few hours last week.

Check out Jon’s Facebook Page here to learn more about his work.
