Sally & Denis’ Iles de la Madelaine Wedding – New Brunswick Photographer

Humm, where to begin with this one?

I’ve known Denis for several years now. I started working for him at the Auberge Gabriele Inn as a summer job when I was in high school and it continued on until my university years. I also worked alongside Sally in the office and actually replaced her while she was on maternity leave. Now, I say replace, but really it was more like trying to “keep up” with all that accounting stuff! Let’s just say there’s a reason why I chose marketing instead of accounting!

When I first heard the news they got engaged, I was hoping I’d be lucky enough to have them ask me to document their wedding day. During the planning stages, I remember Sally asking me for local venue recommendations but I never anticipated what was to come. Once plans were getting finalized a bit more, I wasn’t planning on booking any more September weddings since that was my “crazy busy” time. However, once she started talking about the details and location, I knew I had to join them!

Sally and Denis opted for an intimate destination wedding at Le Domaine du Vieux Couvant in the Magdalen Islands, surrounded by only a handful of their closest friends and family. It was a weekend filled with amazing food and wine, breath taking sceneries and an all around fun time and the actual wedding day was no exception.  The day was very stress free with everything taking place at the inn.

I guess I could go on forever and keep explaining how great that day was, but I realize I probably lost of few already! On with the photos…

PS – I highly recommend visiting the Magdalen Islands. Such a gorgeous place filled with some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Our hosts at the Domaine du Vieux Couvent were nothing but amazing and I thank them for their hospitality. Not to mention how delicious the food is! Definitely a place to check out!
