First film shoot – Moncton Portrait Photographer

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to try shooting film just for fun. The idea came last Fall when I started teaching photography again at the college and saw all the old film cameras they still have laying around. I wanted to bring one to one of my 12+ engagement sessions I shot between September and October. However, with all those sessions plus weddings and teaching, extra time was not what I had and the idea kind of took the backseat.

With the winter being long and my next wedding only in a while, I wanted to go out and shoot with no particular purpose. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to bring some film along! I brought a Nikon F80 and some Fujicolor Pro 400 film and called Josée who I knew would be more than happy to model for me. We set out in the cold not too far from my backyard and snapped a few shots before calling it quits because of the intense cold! I did however have time to finish the roll of film and that very afternoon I went to the lab to get the film scanned. To my surprise, all the frames were perfectly exposed and sharp!

I really loved the experience and will want to try it again sometime… hopefully when it’s nicer outside! I’ll just have to remember not to look at the back of the camera after every shot!

(The first 4 pictures/group are shot on film, the rest are digital)
