My trip to Greece

Some of you may have noticed that I was away from the office last week. I was actually on vacation in Greece for 10 days and what an amazing trip it was.

The Greek islands were certainly way up high on my “bucket list”. From the first time I saw photos of those small white houses built directly on the cliffs (calderas), I was attracted by this destination and knew I had to visit one day.

After 4 flights and over 30 hours of traveling time, we finally arrived on the island of Santorini and this was our destination for the next 3 days. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing the views are on this volcanic island. While the pictures may give you an idea, there is nothing like standing there and seeing it for yourself. During our stay in Santorini, we climbed an “active” volcano, hiked a 3 hour cliff-side journey from Fira to Oia and finally had diner overlooking the famous sunsets of Oia.

After a quick ride on a high speed ferry, the island of Mykonos was our home for the next few days. This island is known for its numerous beaches and busy nightlife – and lots of wind! During our stay we relaxed on a beautiful blue watered beach, visited the Island of Delos and strolled the maze that are the streets of Mykonos Town!

Finally, our last destination was the capital of Greece: Athens. We only had one day here, so we decided to visit the Parthenon at the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. It’s  incredible that this structure has been there since the 4th century B.C. and still stands to this day! The museum holds lots of original pieces from the ancient Greek civilization in a modern building.

From trying new foods, to the breath-taking views and the amazing people we’ve met (hi Leah & Justin!), this trip was an unforgettable experience worth every minute (and penny!).

These are some of the shots I took during our time away. There is no particular order or anything… just some of my favourites! Enjoy!

Andrea & Paul’s St James Gate Wedding – Moncton Photographer

I have the best clients. Ever.

I only met Andrea and Paul a few months ago and remember them talking about their upcoming small, intimate wedding. As we were chatting about their wedding plans, there was an instant connection and I knew I had found a couple I’d be happy to work with!

Came the wedding day and this was only the second time we met. We had to cancel the engagement session due to weather/time restrictions/schedules but we picked up from where we left off and the day went fantastic. Despite the intense cold and wind (there were flurries that morning!) we managed to brave the weather for some outdoor shots. I have to mention how the girls were amazing. I was wearing a T-shit, shirt, sweater and jacket and could barely stand the cold but these girls were posing and looking fabulous in their short dresses.

Once the reception got started, I knew where Andrea and Paul take their kindness and love from. Both the bride and groom have amazing families and this could be seen from their speeches and how accommodating everyone was.

Congratulations to the couple! It was truly a pleasure spending the day with you and your family/friends!

Aimee & Scott’s Wedding – Moncton Wedding Photographer

I shot Aimee and Scott’s wedding last fall and while it rained all day, it didn’t stop the love! If you remember their engagement session, I mentioned how in love they were and how easy it was to photograph them. Nothing changed on the wedding day. Aimee and Scott were so excited to get married and it showed during the entire day, especially during the ceremony!

Congratulations to the couple for such a beautiful wedding day and best wishes for your new lives together!

Julie & Rene’s Engagement Session – Moncton Wedding Photographer

Julie and Rene make such a cute couple! The way they look at each other and laugh together can’t go unnoticed. And as soon as we met at the consultation, I knew I had found a great couple! Spending an evening with them for their engagement session was like hanging out with old friends and just having a great time while taking shots here and there. After shooting a bit at the first location, I decided to bring them at a random spot on the side of the road I had noticed a while back when passing through to get to a wedding. They were happy to follow me and we managed to get some great shots as the sun was setting on the ocean.

Julie and Rene are getting married this coming September at the Memramcook Resort and I’m excited to be joining them for their big day!
